Fantastic to see university students playing at Polo Wicklow
Polo Wicklow manager and coach-instructor Siobhan Herbst (right) provided on-the-spot advice to RCSI and UCD during the Intervarsity Tournament in Wicklow.
And with match commentary provided by Polo Wicklow founder Mickie Herbst the tournament was non-stop action from the first throw-in by umpire Siobhan Herbst to the prize presentations in the clubhouse. The tournament wins were split evenly between UCD’s novice team taking their league against RCSI, and the beginners from RCSI besting UCD.

“It was fantastic to see 12 university students playing,” said Siobhan Herbst just before the prize presentations. “Everyone who has dedicated their Saturday mornings to come down (to Polo Wicklow), the whole way from Dublin to learn how to play our wonderful sport, it’s worth it, I think you can agree.”
Teams from RCSI and UCD put in a fantastic effort in the Intervarsity Tournament at Polo Wicklow, lining out beginners new to the game and the more seasoned novices.
